ITIL - Incident Management

In ITIL v2, they have focus much on incident management . Just to remind all of those outside. ITIL is not a standard it just a collection of best practice.

First we should ask what is incident ?

Incident is an event which is not part of standard/normal operation . For DBA case it might be tablespace getting full ? For Window Admin it might be Disk Drive missing.

As because we are 'paid' to provide services hence as part of our service delivery we are 'monitor' according to Service Level Agreement.(SLA)

As incident management , as long as any 'incident' happen during operation our job is to quickly restore the service within SLA given time.

According to ITIL guidebook , incident management consists of these process

i)Incident detection and recording - Record down the incident for future investigation.

ii)Classification and initial support - Classify the incident to severity or priority.

iii)Investigation and diagnosis - Troubleshoot and diagnose incident

iv)Resolution and recovery - Finding the best solution to recover the problem , we might able to search through past record for solution as well.

v)Incident closure - Identify whether incident is resolve but monitor these issue and communication with customer.

This is just part of my day2day operation duty..:)

Let's adventure more in ITIL

Management Survival kits

Today receive a few funny article , but i can't ignore that it spell the true for real life.

1) To be sitting and doing nothing , you must be sitting very very high up.

2) Bullshit may give you on the top but it would't keep you there for long

3) Not everyone who drops shit to you are your enemy ,not everyone who get you out of shit is your friends. And when you are in deep shit keep your mouth shout.

In anywhere i work before , this scenery repeat and repeat again , what can i said ? I just someone quietly doing my jobs , sitting just right not high and low and i nver bullshit..:)

UEFA Euro 2008

I just found out that Euro 2008 is a four year tournament and will be taking place in Austria and Switzerland which started on 7 Jun 2008 and finish at 29 Jun 2008 . According to google information the next place should be at 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. it look like the venue is going to north direction..:)

I not a hardcore football fan even i am fan of World Cup but this event is the first time i know abt that maybe because i got a brother in law which is a football friend this year.

There will be 16 teams participate in the tournament. And it look like Amazon already got all T-shift.

Anyone interested , better click and buy one before the event start hot-cooking..:)

Survey on Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

It have being long time i looking for a zoom lense for my 350D . Although i might not able to travel alot in year 2008 but i am sure 2009 is another travel year for my family.

Specifications
Optical construction12 elements in 10 groups inc. 1x UD element
Number of aperture blades7 (rounded)
min. focus distance1.1m (max. magnification ratio ~1:3)
Dimensions70x108mm
Weight390g
Filter size58mm (rotating)
Hoodoptional, barrel-shaped, snap-on type
Other featuresIS (Optical Stabilizer)

Further check on review result.

Technically the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS is a tiny lens with a great performance potential. The resolution is very good across the range. Chromatic aberrations are basically a non-issue. The level of distortions remain moderate. The most obvious flaw is, unsurprisingly, vignetting at large apertures. The build quality is fine for a lens in this class and it is one step up from the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS that we've seen here recently. Regarding the target market you may surely forgive the plastic mount. The AF (micro-) motor is pretty fast and silent. So's everything cool here ? Well, the AF accuracy didn't really convince in the field - specifically at the wide-end of the zoom range - but to be fair this is much better on an EOS 40D (e.g.) with its improved AF capabilities. I had some trouble with the image stabilizer in the field but according to early reader feedback this impression seems to be an exception to the rule. If so the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS has certainly the potential to be another hot seller.

I believe i can live with some of the disadvantages.

Optical Quality:
Mechanical Quality:
Price/Performance:

Checked on US site amazon , price is around US 279.95 approx = RM 895 . and i hear that pertama complex at Kl is selling at RM 800 (April 2008).

Maybe it is time for me to check it out..

Now it is time for supportor to goto MySQL Magazine's community to play part of their
roles on doing a simple survey.

What is the purpose of that survey ? It mean to give feedback on who we are , platform and language which we are using ,and what you think abt the current release/policies.

It just matter for developer to know us better too.

Let's go and spend few minute for it and take the survey.

Oraganic cleanser

Today while i walk around a Shopping market nearby my house , i saw a cute advertise on one of the small shop at Idaman Plaza.

So i walk in and have a look and guess what i found on that shop , it is something which i saw it while i go honeymoon with my wife at taiwan last year.

It is a Mung Bean Cleanser , i give it a try to wrap at my hand after 5 minute wash and clean i can immediately see out the different with a black hand and a fair little hand. When i talk with the owner of the shop and realize that she also got the idea from Taiwan.

What more is , i check on the price of the product it just < rm 10 for a little package but due to all those hot weather i buy a big package so that i dont need to go out again for shopping. (A good price is given to me because i also know it from taiwan . i believe now i can use it for months for my day to day face + body cleanser .

When i go back and open out the box, i found a very convenience plastic bottle inside.According to the shop owner that this product must not mix out with the water if we are not using it. Come to think of that it is true also because it so organic enough no preservative is there . Here are some picture i snap to share out. There are also Chinese and English instruction on the side of the box as well.

Another funny thing is ,they also have a email for distributor contact
and it is areyourorganic @ gmail dot com (to avoid bot spammer)

Anyone interest can try and check it out.I also hear that they are looking for distributor but i suggest them to goto ebay for oversea market.
